Memory of Dancing.

My last memory of dancing was at my best friend’s wedding. After 55 years, my cousin Beth finally met the woman of her dreams, her true soul mate.

We never thought either of us would get married. But there she was several years ago, pulling me aside to say, “I am going to propose to Linda. And I want to do that at your Blue Cabin”.

That set off a whole other set of events, which was me creating the scene at the cabin with lights and specially curated photographs and candle lit bags spelling out the words, “Will you marry me?”. The very next day, Linda and Beth arrived, and Linda said, “Y E S”.

The prior night, while I was stringing lights all throughout the cabin including the 200 photos that Beth sent the day before…things were romantically percolating in my own life with Ann. We were on the phone the entire time – while each strand of light was strategically placed and each handpicked photo put into the perfect place for Linda to experience. While on the phone with Ann, the tears started to flow. It was beautiful and the cabin was looking romantic.

Beth sent pictures of their courtship and I could see the beauty, the love and the affection they had for one another. I got to share that special moment with Ann. It was a memorable evening for the both of us.

Beth and Linda were due to be married in June 2020, which then moved to June 2021. Ann and I had been together for almost 2 years when we attended the wedding together.

We danced it up all night long. The music was incredible. The energy was electric. Beth’s sister, her nieces and their friends (all 20 somethings) were a lot of fun. The smiles on all of our faces were large. We couldn’t help but to have fun. And we danced, danced, danced…

I love dancing. And I really love dancing with Ann. She’s a great dancer.

Weddings and dancing go together.
